I couldn’t be more excited to see “No Short Cuts” released this week – a new video produced with Ottawa’s inMotion Productions that gives a really intense look into my day-in-day training routine. We finished filming last summer/fall and since then, it’s been killing me not being able to share this but the wait is over …. check it out, friends.
Working with Skyler and Amanda at inMotion and my friend, Mike with Pentathlon Canada, we set out to make a video that would give people a better sense of what pentathlon is all about through my training routine in Ottawa – from the pool at ROC Swimming. to the track at the Terry Fox complex, the stables at Westar Farms, the fencing salle with Ottawa Fencing, the studio at Continuum Fitness and Jaime Trick’s therapy table – it’s all part of the reality for an athlete with Olympic dreams. A huuuugggeeee thank you to all of the really talented people who worked together on this one … all time that was volunteered on evenings and weekends.
So many people only see the result every four years at an Olympics or other major competition but there is lots and lots of sweat – and even a few tears – shed day-in-day-out that make my dream of a spot on the PanAm and Olympic podium a reality. Like title says, there’s absolutely no room for short cuts.
My favour to ask of all of you … please comment, like and/or share the video with your friends, family, neighbours, co-workers, padre, local councillor, lions, tigers and bears. Our goal is to share this video with as many people and, who knows, maybe turn this little video into a viral sensation.
Keep on keep’n on, friends,
